Bikram Yogahimsa Stockholm

The Bikram Ashtanga Yoga opened in March 2014. It is located in Östermalm, a very elegant part of the city. It fits excellent in these environments. From the end of the street, you can glimpse the sea, the harbour and a lot of ships.

The studio offers not only different sorts of yoga in the hot room, but also others in a not heated room. All the furniture is simple, classy, elegant and nevertheless functional. The unique studio isn’t made for masses of people but for a small group. There are trail lessons available.

Ricardo, the Teacher is a Chilean. He did his Teacher Training 2008 in Acapulco. He cautions me about the heat. I don’t take that too seriously, after having practiced in over 100 studios around Europe and never needing to leave the room. But when I enter, I really have to get used to the heat and the high humidity. Ricardo is an excellent teacher. He is wearing a long-sleeved hoody! He seems to correct every single mistake – quite the opposite of the teacher I experienced yesterday, who didn’t anything in this direction. He gives hints, sometimes there are smallest details to change like a hand grip. We are eight Yogis. At the end he compliments us as a „very strong group“.
