„I was a keen athlete, always on the go, so she thought Bikram would be perfect for me“, erzählt Eladio. „On one hand these are great experiences because they do make you feel fit but on the other they do put pressure on your joints and you can end up with an injury.“ Bikram Yoga ermöglichte es ihm, viel flexibler zu werden und stärkere Gelenke aufzubauen.

Ironman Triathlon and Bikram Yoga

The teacher Eladio Garrido has both French and Australian nationalities. He speaks French, English and Spanish fluently, also the dialogue. He has been a software engineer in large companies for more than 25 years: in London, Sydney, Amsterdam, Paris.

After a bike accident his physiotherapist recommended him to practice Bikram yoga. „I was a keen athlete, always on the go, so she thought Bikram would be perfect for me“, Eladia tells. He started his practice in Sydney in December 1999. Afterwards he moved to Amsterdam where he practiced at Teresa’s, later in Paris. He learnt about the great benefits of this sort of yoga, even more, because he completed 4 ironman triathlons and had run 48 marathons. „On one hand these are great experiences because they do make you feel fit but on the other they do put pressure on your joints and you can end up with an injury.“ So Bikram has allowed him to increase his flexibility and helped to get his joints stronger, furthermore it allowed him to improve his concentration and to relax.

In Paris he practiced more and more, because outdoors activities were rather difficult to get to. Eventually the need to become a teacher started. He joined the Teachter Training in 2011. He says his return home was difficult, because the competition was big in Paris with only one studio owner and more than 25 teachers and 4 new students. Finally he learnt the dialogue in three languages, in English, French and Spanish. He taught in Bordeaux, he even taught in Switzerland and Belgium. Eventually he decided to open his own studio in Valencia one year ago. He is really dedicated to this yoga. And he is very busy, because he is teaching every single lesson himself: 15 a week. When he wants to practise, he has to do it in a different studio.
