Das Studio Hot Bikram Yoga London Bridge ist das dritte, das unter dem selben Logo auftritt. Das älteste dieser Reihe, Fulham, eröffnete vor acht Jahren, das Balham Studio renovierte letztes Jahr und London Bridge existiert seit drei Jahren. Es liegt unweit des gleichnamigen, riesigen Bahnhofs in einem aufstrebenden Viertel, das einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das nördliche Themse-Ufer und die Tower-Brücke bietet.

Eine Holz-Wendeltreppe führt in das Untergeschoss, wo warme Farben, eine gemütliche Sitzecke und der Empfang platziert sind. Das rote Logo breitet sich auch in den Gängen und an den Wänden aus. Der heisse Raum ist nicht so breit wie üblich, hingegen so lang, dass locker sechs Reihen Matten Platz finden. Sasha Chapman unterrichtet; auch sie hatte, wie schon die Teacherin in Divino Pastor in Madrid, zusammen mit Vivek vom Zürcher Heimstudio das Teacher-Training absolviert. Ich traf sie untertags an den Yoga-Weltmeisterschaften. Noch andere Wettbewerbsteilnehmer nehmen nun bei ihr eine Stunde. Besonders freut sie sich über Adam aus Kanada: Während ihrer Ausbildung wirkte er als Mentor.

Sie unterrichtet, als ob sie es schon immer gemacht hätte: mit Tempo, mit Witz und sorgt ausserdem für frische Luft, was in der Hitze sehr willkommen ist. Ab und zu fährt ein Zug vorbei. Es ist das Studio, wo Champion Ky Ha unterrichtet: Er fungiert jeweils an Weltmeisterschaften als Richter hat auch schon einen Workshop in Zürich abgehalten.

The Bikram Yoga studio London Bridge belongs with two other studios to a company that uses the same logo for all of them. The oldest one is Fulham; it opened eight years ago. The second one is Balham which became redone last year. The newest one is London Bridge, existing for three years. It is situated quite near the important and huge railway and underground station London Bridge in the middle of an ambitious district. It offers a breathtaking view to the other side of the Thames river and  to the Tower Bridge.

Wooden corkscrew stairs lead to the basement where a cosy relaxing room and the reception desk are situated. The red logo is shown all over the place. The hot room less broad than in other newer studios, instead its length to the back is immense: six rows of mats can be placed easily.

Sasha Clapman is teaching. She studied together with Vivek from my homestudio Zurich and the teacher I met at the Divino Pastor studio in Madrid. I could say her hello some hours before; this was at the World Championships. Some competitors were also in the class practising. Sasha enjoyed to meet Adam from Canada, who was a mentor during her teacher-training. She teaches as if she did this for years and years. With speed and wit. From time to time she regulates the heat. Trains are passing. It’s the studio where Champion Ky Ha also does teach. He is a judge at the World Championships and well known all over the world, he even gave a workshop at the Zurich studio.
