Bikram Yoga Harburg

„…THERE WAS ONCE A HAPPY FOUR-LEAVE CLOVER
My dear friends and family, especially the bikram yoga family, I sadly have to tell you that Lennart (Bikram Yoga Teacher Training 2010 Palms Springs) after suffering from 2 years of severe depression chose to take his life last week on November 4th.)

Buxtehuder Strasse 56, 21073 Hamburg, www.bikramharburg.de (Besitzerwechsel nach dem Tod von Lennart: Marck Stevens übernimmt das Studio unter dem Namen Hot Yoga Hamburg Süd)

In the beginning of this year, Yuka Suziki and Lennart Grab opened the latest Bikram Yoga studio in Hamburg. It is located in a part of the town 15 kilometres south of the main train station, which used to be a separate commune. The almost rural, exuberant but cosy is mostly visible in the different pedestrian areas. Back in Zurich, teacher Timo let us know about the opening of the studio; the progress of its construction was made watchable by its Facebook page.

Through Hamburgs excellent public transportation the studio is accessible in no time; any fears about not being able to find it, because it isn’t included into the map of the city, are needless. It is set at the second upper floor directly on top of a bathroom fittings company. There is no bell; visitors are supposed to walk up to stairs without giving notice to the staff, firstly. Not unlike Bamberk, everything inside the studio is bright, friendly and the locker rooms are huge. On the other hand, the hot room may not be as big as the one in Bamberk, but very spacious and able to hold up to four rows of trainees. The temperature inside is perfect, even if no form of ventilation is noticeable.

Lennart teaches adeptly with a good eye for the time. He is also able to stress the reasoning behind the different poses and their importance throughout the session. His partner Yuka, with whom he has a son and a little baby girl, is taking part in the session, as well.

Even his parents are passionate about Bikram Yoga and follow the session from A to Z. At the end, not only apples and tea are offered, but pears and even juicy, cut into the right shape strawberries, too. No wonder that the Yogis often sit comfortably together after the sessions.
